Itching for an adventure? With warmer weather rolling around, it’s the perfect time to take a spring break road trip. You’ll be able to embrace the sunshine, broaden your horizons, and break the day-to-day routine.

The perfect road trip typically consists of good company, a quality playlist, and most importantly, food! Packing the right snacks is essential in maintaining your energy to stay focused and alert. Luckily, we’ve compiled a list of snacks that will help you steer clear of the fast food drive-thrus and keep you on track to your destination.

Fresh or Dried Fruit

Sitting for long periods of time can take a toll on the body and it’s important to make sure you’re taking care of it. Fruit is an excellent source of essential vitamins and minerals. Plus, they’re high in fiber and provide a wide range of health-boosting antioxidants. If you don’t have a cooler, don’t worry! Dried fruits are a great substitute.

Sandwiches

Sandwiches are the perfect, convenient road trip meal. They’re cheap, easy to pack, and customizable. Stop by our authentic Italian-American deli and we’ll make you a great sandwich to take on your way.

Trail Mix

Trail mix typically contains a wide variety of granola, nuts, seeds, and dried fruit. This delicious snack is high in protein, full of nutrients, and can give you the energy you need to combat drowsiness and fatigue while on the road.

Meats and Cheeses

Pre-cut salami, beef jerky, and string cheese are all good options for a road-trip snack. They are packed with protein and calcium. Hard meats and cheeses are shelf-stable and do not need refrigeration. Bring along some crackers and fruit to enjoy a nice, simple charcuterie spread!

Pre-Cut Vegetables

Pre-cut vegetables such as cucumbers, carrots, celery, and peppers can stave off hunger during a road trip. Like fruit, vegetables contain essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and are perfect for snacking. If you have vegetables already on hand, just chop them up the night before and store them in a plastic bag. Plus, you can include your favorite dip for some extra flavor!

These nutritional food options will help you avoid the unhealthy and greasy fast food while keeping you focused on the journey ahead.
